On Thursday May 19, 2011 (20) members making up (5) teams competed in the May 2011 Scramble at the Gold Canyon Country Club. It should be mentioned that all in attendance agreed that the hospitality of the staff at Gold Canyon , headed up by manager and resident pro Kevin, was outstanding. The course was in excellent condition even with all the recent rainfall with only a few fairways being a little soggy. Lastly, the lunch provided was excellent in addition to the service of the restaurant staff.
Concerning the golf results (2) teams tied for 1st place with a gross score of (75) with the balance of the (3) teams coming in with a gross score of (76) only (1) stroke behind. Could not get much closer than this. The winning teams consisted of the team of
Kieran Savage, Harry Nieuland, and Keith and Noi Taylor and the team of Les Harvey, Nigel Jones, Dan Severson, and Steve Jepson.
Closest to the pin honors on the par 3 holes went to Joe Ritter, Jimmy Catterson , Steve Jepson, and Dave Robertson.

Lastly, hats off to Les Harvey for coordinating this event, and as stated, everyone who attended had a great day.

It's scramble time again & it has been decided to give Gold Canyon another try. Now confirmed cost is 800baht including caddy and lunch. The scramble is a popular format for all abilities and a great opportunity to get everybody together.
The Date is Thursday 19th May, 2011.
Nominations close Tuesday 15th May - Register with Les and/or Club Captains.
The Time is 0900, but be there at least half hour before Tee-off.
Pick your own Team but each team must have a total handicap of not less than 100 at the time of nomination.
Handicap does not apply during the game - Lowest gross score wins.
Entry Fee 200bt each person (800bt per team).
Cash prize for winners + other prizes if sufficient entries.
Booze for nearest the pins.
Nearest the pins must be on the green.
Minimum of 3 drives per person (not counting par 3s). The person whose drive is used does not have a second shot, this also applies to the 2 'spare' drives. The person whose drive is used marks his ball with a tee, picks up & the remaining 3 players hit their ball from there. All players can hit subsequent shots.
Please remember with putting if you putt very close to the hole & tap in without giving your team mates the opportunity to putt, that score stands. Always remember to mark your ball.
One score card for each team, clearly scored & marked with who has driven on each hole.
Card to be checked and signed by two members of the team as correct before submission.
Cards to be submitted as quickly as possible after completion of the round.
